Song Notes
TK
–I wrote this song for two friends who were getting married. I’d agreed to play at the wedding, but for the life of me I couldn’t decide on a song. Then one Sunday morning, not long before their big day, I woke up and realized I hadn’t found the right song because I had to write their song, and suddenly there it was. I sat down and wrote the whole thing in my bathrobe, singing and crying. I wish they all came like this.
If I told the world what you mean to me now
I might need forever to get all the words out
The day could be over, the seasons could change
And I’d just be started, so how do I say
I love you… like I never loved before
I love you… and I could not love you more
If I started to paint you the picture of us
That’s here in my heart, it would never be done
I don’t know the colors, I don’t own the brush
To show how I could need anybody this much
I love you… like I never loved before
I love you… and I could not love you more
And if I knew the prayer I would pray it tonight
Lord please teach me the way to do this thing right
I don’t know the song, I can’t name the dance
That moves in my heart when you reach for my hand
When I wake up beside you and know this is real
And not just a dream that the sun came to steal
I love you… like I never loved before
I love you… and I could not love you more
